Maybe you know about the recent fiasco in the crypto world with the recent acquisition of an original version of the scripts, art and production book of Alejandro Jodorowsky's version of Dune by Spice DAO, winning an auction that ended at €2.66M . The book has great historical value for representing a colossal work that was never achieved, with performances by Mick Jagger, Salvador Dalí, Orson Welles, David Carradine and Alain Delon and original music by Pink Floyd. In the end, the project was crushed under its own weight.

The problem is that Spice DAO, ignorant of the most basic aspects of licensing and copyright, thought it could use the book to "producean original animated limited series inspired by the book and sell it to a streaming service" and "support derivative projects from the community".

However, none of this is actually possible, since the purchase of the book simply does not include the right of use ¯_(ツ)_/¯ thus giving us the gift of probably one of the most stupid purchases in history and possibly a lawsuit by from Warner Bros. Also a good laugh at the twitter responses and quote twits :D

Anyway, you don't have to pay the equivalent of $3M dollars to appreciate the great art this book contains, just click on the Google Photos link below to appreciate the unique pieces of H.R. Giger (Alien), Moebius (Incal) and Christopher Foss (The Palace of Love) among others.

Tal vez sabes sobre el reciente fiasco en el mundo del crypto con la reciente adquisición de una versión original del libro de scripts, arte y producción de la versión de Alejandro Jodorowsky de Dune por parte de Spice DAO, ganando una subasta que termino en €2.66M. El libro tiene un gran valor histórico por representar una obra colosal que nunca se logro, con actuaciones de Mick Jagger, Salvador Dalí, Orson Welles, David Carradine y Alain Delon y música original de Pink Floyd. Al final, el proyecto fue aplastado bajo su propio peso.

El problema resulta en que Spice DAO, dentro de la ignorancia en los aspectos mas básicos de licencias y derechos de autor, pensó que podía usar el libro para "producir una serie animada limitada y venderla a algún servicio de streaming" y "apoyar a proyectos derivativos de la comunidad".

Sin embargo nada de esto es posible, ya que la compra del libro simplemente no incluye los derecho de uso ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ dando lugar así a probablemente una de las compras mas estúpidas en la historia y posiblemente una demanda por parte de Warner Bros. También algunas carcajadas de las respuestas en twitter.

En fin, tu no tienes por que pagar el equivalente a $3M de dólares por apreciar el grandioso arte que contiene el libro simplemente da click en el enlace de Google Photos mas abajo para apreciar las piezas únicas de H.R.
