While looking for more information on Pygmalion (the king and sculptor of Greek mythology who created his "perfect woman") for one of my graphic novels I'm working on (PYG) I came across this book. It contains 23 resin models sculpted by Kouki Hayashi and hand painted by Hiroshi Tagawa with a mesmerizing precision . The realism and attention to the smallest detail in each piece is incredible, the variation in the color of skin and lips, even the subtle veins under Han Juri's skin, as well as the expressive and lively eyes is all masterclass.

I usually only buy 2D art books, however the cover completely grabbed my attention. The photographs are large and of excellent quality, giving each piece from 2 to 5 pages of content in images, although just a few sentences. At the beginning it contains a short introduction, profile and preamble, at the end there are some thoughts on the artistic interaction between Hayashi and Tagawa as well as final notes. In general it does not contain much text so if you are looking for something more instructive on techniques, maybe you should look for his first book "PYGMALION".

This book is hardcover with a dustcover and glossy paper pages that makes the images and colors vibrant. The editorial design is clean and elegant, I especially loved the front and back cover with black and white photos of Chun-Li and Han Juri under the dust jacket, pure class.

Strongly recommended not only to artists interested in resin model painting, but to anyone looking to be inspired and amazed by the incredible work of Hiroshi Tagawa.

Mientras buscaba mas información de Pygmalion (el rey y escultor de la mitología Griega quien esculpió a su "mujer perfecta") para una de mis novelas graficas en la que estoy trabajando (PYG) me encontré con este libro. Contiene 23 modelos de resina esculpidas por Kouki Hayashi y pintadas por Hiroshi Tagawa con una absoluta precisión que resulta hipnotizante. El realismo y atención al mas minúsculo detalle en cada pieza es increíble, la variación en el color de piel y labios, incluso las sutiles venas debajo de la piel de Han Juri, así como los ojos expresivos y vivos es masterclass.

Usualmente compro solo libros de arte 2D, sin embargo la portada me atrapo por completo. Las fotografías son grandes y de excelente calidad, dándole a cada pieza de 2 hasta 5 paginas de contenido en imágenes, aunque poco texto. Al inicio contiene una pequeña introducción, perfil y preámbulo, al final algunos pensamientos sobre la interacción artística entre Hayashi y Tagawa así como notas finales. En general no contiene mucho texto así que si buscas algo mas instructivo en técnicas, probablemente sea mejor opción su primer libro "PYGMALION"

Este libro es de pasta dura con una sobre cubierta y paginas en papel glossy que hace que las imágenes y colores sean muy brillantes. El diseño editorial es limpio y elegante, sobre todo me encantaron la portada y contraportada con fotografías en blanco y negro de Chun-Li y Han Juri debajo de la sobre cubierta, pura clase.

Totalmente recomendado no solo a artistas interesados en pintura de modelos de resina, si no a cualquiera que busque inspirarse y asombrarse con el increíble trabajo de Hiroshi Tagawa.
